In 1923, the Whitechapel police find several dead bodies mutilated in the same way Jack the Ripper had left his victims 35 years earlier. Believing that he’s responsible for invoking the spirit of Jack the Ripper, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of Sherlock Holmes and a devout spiritualist, wants to stop the killings and rid Whitechapel of Jack’s spirit. Hoping to overcome their past differences, Doyle asks magician Harry Houdini for help. Houdini, having spent years debunking mediums and criticizing spiritualists, partners with Doyle. Doyle’s analytical mind and spiritual beliefs, along with Houdini’s talents in illusion and magic, are pitted against a formidable and calculating Ripper. Alongside a bright but inexperienced female police constable and two veteran detectives, they set out to track the elusive killer. Working together, they risk their lives pursuing the murderer through the streets of London. What they find is shocking and terrifying.
